ADMISSION
Academy in Motion
We Want to Meet Your Child!
At Albuquerque Academy, we create an educational experience that shapes eager students into purposeful, ethical, independent learners. Our students come from more than 80 different schools throughout greater Albuquerque and around the world, and they all share one thing: an insatiable curiosity.
The diversity of our student body fosters mutual respect and the sharing of unique ideas, important components of learning and growing. Your child, too, has unique gifts and talents that can benefit from and be served by our community. We’d love to meet your family.

The application season for Fall 2024 has ended.
The regular admission application process for the 2024-25 school year has closed, and Albuquerque Academy is at full enrollment capacity. We are, however, accepting applications during our off-cycle process from students who may have extenuating circumstances. Please call the admission office at (505) 828-3208 if you’d like to discuss applying for the 2024-25 school year. Admission applications for the 2025-26 school year will open in September. We look forward to working with you and appreciate your interest in Albuquerque Academy.
Campus Tours and Buddy Days
Campus tours are available by appointment only. Please call the admission office at (505) 828-3208 to schedule.
Applicants can experience being an Academy student during Buddy Days. On a typical day, each buddy day visitor will attend engaging classes, participate in a group interview activity (this fulfills the interview requirement of an admission file), and spend time with a student ambassador. It is possible that your child could experience other activities and events depending on the particular day they attend. Some of these activities could include class meetings, clubs, and celebrations.
Call the admission office at (505) 828-3208 or send us an email for more information.
Tuition for the 2024-25 school year is $28,149, which includes the academic experience, lunch, and most extracurriculars. It does not cover the cost of some textbooks, bookstore incidentals, and laptops in grades 8-12.
Tuition Assistance: All available funds for the 2024-25 school year have been allocated. Families with financial concerns applying during the off-cycle should send an email to the tuition assistance office to discuss the possibility of receiving funding. The tuition assistance application for the 2025-26 school year will open in September. Nearly one-quarter of our student body receives tuition assistance — from partial awards for students from families who earn relatively higher incomes or may be supporting multiple children at the Academy to full awards for students from families with more limited resources. Learn more about tuition assistance here.

About Testing
We require that all applicants take an admission exam as part of the application process. We are administering the Renaissance STAR exam for admission. This exam, which consists of multiple-choice reading and math tests, is conducted online. You will receive detailed instructions following registration, including technology requirements (a computer with a camera and microphone), suggestions for the ideal testing environment, the materials your child will need, and more.
Admission tests are offered regularly, beginning in November. Please visit your ChargerHub admission portal for more information.
If you have questions, please call the admission office at (505) 828-3208.
Rescheduling or Connectivity Issues
- If a conflict arises, you may reschedule your child’s test through ChargerHub.
- If your child is feeling unwell on the day of the test, please contact the admission office to have them rescheduled.
- If for some reason your child’s exam session ends prematurely due to connectivity issues or other technological difficulties, please contact the admission office after the exam end time to reschedule.
